Passport Café entered the Pittsburgh dining scene in September 2007. Passport Cafe’s “concept” (no restaurant discussion can avoid use of that word!) is summed up in our tag line: “Global Cuisine, Local Harvest.” The frequently changing menu presents international cuisine prepared with eggs, poultry, meats, and seasonal fruits and vegetables sourced from the farm bounty at hand in Western Pennsylvania.
Under the kitchen leadership of Chef Joseph Colantuono, the Café offers foods, tastes and style that are unique to the Pittsburgh market. Chef Colantuono is committed to offering a range of international flavors and food styles using local products as much as possible. He is devoted to simple preparations of fresh and healthful foods designed to delight the palate.
Passport Café was conceived and developed by owners Mark and Barbara Matera, inspired by years of international travel, a brief period of living abroad, an appreciation of hospitality and a love for great food served in attractive and upbeat surroundings. Mark devotes all of his time to working with his staff to offer every guest what he calls “over the top hospitality.”
The Café is dedicated to offering terrific food and wonderful wines, beers and spirits in an inviting atmosphere. Further, Passport Café aims to create a sense of warm and attentive hospitality, including expert service. We invite you to join us for lunch, dinner or Sunday brunch, or to just stop in for a drink or dessert. We welcome your feedback on how we can best meet your expectations.
